Picture
A six month internship program that includes the opportunity to obtain a Resident Florida 2-15 Life, Health & Variable Annuity Insurance license.
Our internship program allows the flexibility to work within your busy schedule.  There are opportunities and available internship programs throughout the state of Florida.
If you are interested in a career within the exciting field of life insurance, annuity, and supplemental health insurance sales, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?
  • You will have an opportunity to obtain a Florida Resident Life, Health & Variable Annuity 2-15 license.
  • You will be helping others by making a difference in their lives and the lives of their families.
  • You will gain valuable experience in time management, marketing, business planning, and sales.
  • You will learn business skills and gather experience that will transfer to any business setting.
  • You will develop entrepreneurship skills.  Professional insurance agents often own their own business.
  • You will gain significant earning potential during your internship.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS ARE REQUIRED?
  • You must be a college senior or graduate student to apply.
  • Have a current overall college GPA of 2.3 or greater.
  • Have interest in becoming an entrepreneur.
  • Be involved in student organizations, government, athletics, and community.  Past work experience is  a plus, but not a necessity.
  • Be able to work 20 hours per week minimum.
  • Must have a Positive Mental Attitude and a willingness to learn.
  • Must have a clean criminal and financial background.
  • Have a clean-cut appearance.  No extreme hairstyles, no extreme facial hair, no extreme body piercings or extreme tattoos.  This is a professional job and requires a professional appearance.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?
You will work first on obtaining your Florida Resident Life, Health & Variable Annuity 2-15 license.  This will require the completion of a 40-hour approved course, either online or in person, and passing of the licensing test.  If you have taken at least 3 semester hours of Life, Health (including variable annuity) insurance course from an accredited college or university (official transcript required), you will not need to complete the 40-hour course, just the licensing test.  We will assist you with the setting up and implementation of obtaining this license.  Upon obtaining your 2-15 license, State Securities Corp. will reimburse your cost for obtaining this license up to $300.

Once your license is obtained and under the supervision of an experienced, licensed agent/manager:
  • You will schedule appointments with existing agency's clients in order to perform service work and fact-find for their current insurance needs.
  • You will have an opportunity in various State of Florida offices to provide benefit enrollment opportunities to the employees.
  • You will be analyzing the information gathered during the above visits.
  • You will be making product recommendations and sales to help clients meet their financial and security goals.
  • You will be learning to field underwrite policy applications.

WHAT TRAINING WILL I RECEIVE?
  • The first step in your training is from the preparation and testing for your 2-15 Life, Health & Variable Insurance license.
  • You will learn how to prospect for clients.
  • You will learn how to develop a step-by-step process for determining a potential client's needs and offer solutions, making a sale, and providing on-going service and support.
  • You will learn how to set goals, manage your time effectively, and fact-find with a client.
  • You will learn work habits and business skills vital to your future success.

IS THERE OPPORTUNITY FOR A PERMANENT POSITION?
  • Once you have successfully completed the six-month internship program, a permanent position may possibly be offered.
  • You and your trainer will discuss your potential for success in this industry and you will be evaluated for a full-time agent position.

WHAT ABOUT POTENTIAL FOR MANAGEMENT?
  • Many of our managers share two things in common - they became agents in their early to mid-twenties and after a period of time where they had demonstrated success as an agent, their careers took unique and different directions into management roles.
  • There are many opportunities for management after a period of time being a successful agent.
